Make the acceptance criteria explicit
Before work starts, identify the business owner, the systems in scope and the result that will count as complete. Agree a maintenance window, recovery precautions and a secure access method. The handover records changes, tests, exceptions and access to remove. This makes remote cooperation across time zones practical without relying on vague promises.
Give every stage a checkable output
Remote work needs a defined result before access is arranged. Record completed changes separately from work blocked by missing permission or provider limitations.
- Enquiry supplies system, symptom and impact.
- Agreement confirms scope, estimate and checks.
- Execution records approved changes.
- Handover lists results and open actions.
Inputs and outputs at each work stage
After delivery, remove or reduce temporary accounts as agreed. Credentials use a suitable channel, and time-zone scheduling is confirmed per task. An enquiry does not automatically create an order or emergency commitment.
| Stage | Input | Output |
|---|---|---|
| Assessment | Permitted observations | Scope and assumptions |
| Execution | Approved access | Change record |
| Review | Results and limitations | Next owner/action |
Example: define acceptance for a form repair
For a form repair, success means an approved test reaches its destination. A green screen message alone cannot close the task; unexpected CRM work requires another scope agreement. This is an illustrative scenario, not a customer case or a promised result.
